My Creations!

I haven't been in blog land very much ~ Sorry!
I have been trying to catch up with everyone ~ soon I hope!
Summer is just so darn busy, so much to do.
I've been trying to get my booth filled up at Cedar Ridge ~ this is what I have accomplished and  took to the store this past week.  Lots of pictures!

Some of my signs!

I made a bunch of the garden dolls ~ pattern by Blue Moon Beginnings
Raggedies ~ pattern by Prim Raggs

Old Glory bags ~ pattern by Olde Homestead Barn

Rooster Pillows ~ pattern by Samanthas Accessories
Here's what  my booth looks like at Cedar Ridge.

I also made a sign for a friend of mine for their cottage

I've been busy and I still have a lot more sign to do ~ one day I will get this table cleared!
If you look real hard you can see stacks of boards on the floor waiting for their base coats.
I'm also hoping to start making fall items.  I better get busy ~ time is passing me by!

Have a Great Day!

Barn Pickin'

Hello Everyone out there in Blog Land!
I know I promised to post yesterday, but time once again got away from me.
Sunday I got to go barn pickin', one of my favorite things to do!
Boy do I feel like one of the guys/gals from American Pickers!
Shoot ~ I forgot my flashlight!
A couple times throughout the year we get to go to this guys house and pick through his barn, this is through invitation only.  I feel so honored to join in the fun.  The man that owns this barn goes to flea markets, garage sales, auctions, estate sales and travels the country to find old homes and such that are being torn down.  Sometimes he comes across the most amazing things.  His barn and property are full of wonderful finds.

This is the barn that we go pickin' through ~ even the lofts are packed to the brim.
I don't always like going up there, (kind of scary coming down, you have to hang onto a rope when your going down the steep ramps) but if you don't you'll surely miss something! Last year I found the most beautiful old strawberry basket with a birds nest in it, it was tucked way in the corner under a bunch of stuff. That's why you need a flashlight not much light up there either.
In the main level there is room after room filled with great finds.  Sorry I didn't take any pictures in the inside.
I'll try to next time ~ he said we might be able to come back at the end of July. YIPPEE!!!

Everything is for sale! except the buildings themselves.  Anything on the buildings is for sale though.
Some things have prices, some do not ~ it's like going to your own personal flea market.  He even had a table set up with beverages and bars!

Even if you need/looking for an old outhouse he has some of those too!
I don't know how many he has, I'm going to guess around 30 or so.

Some of the items I purchased ~ a couple old boxes, window screen, an old drawer from an old work bench, grain pull, old whisk broom, an old clipboard for invoices.
 and

I love this!  It goes perfect in my flower garden. It even spins!
He told me it used to be a seed marker for planting.
Hope you all enjoyed my little adventure in barn pickin'!

I'm going to be posting a giveaway at the end of the week ~ so stay tuned!!!

Speaking about giveaways don't forget to stop over and see Tricia over at Hillcrest Home Prims

Flea Market Finds!

I've been meaning to post this for awhile ~ just haven't  had the time.
Last Sat. I went to my first flea market for the season.  I've been itching to go after seeing every one's wonderful finds here in blogland.
I always seem to get scheduled  to work on Sat. nights, so I have to stick close to home ~ and believe me there are not many flea markets close to home.
The flea market I went to only has them the first Sat. of every month.  I jumped into the car as soon as I got up ~ and believe me that wasn't fast enough.
I wanted to enjoy it for as long as I could.
This is where the flea market was held ~ M. Schettl
This truly is an out of mall experience!
They have statue's and displays all through the grounds and their buildings are packed with unusual finds.

I thought these were cool ~ the bottle trees ~ even the gazebo had colorful bottles all over it.

This gazebo was filled with old wine barrels ~ can you see the pink flamingo in the background?

Some of the vendors had their wares displayed on old wagons that are around the property.

I was so excited to get this old wash tub for $5.00.  I'm going to put potted geraniums in it, and when we have cookouts I can remove the plants and fill it with ice and beverages.

I got an old sewing rocker ~ I love the dark aged wood!

Just some small finds ~ the mirror is for my daughter she is a beautician and she loves old hand mirrors.
I love old tins and bottles!

This is a close-up of the pig jar I got, there is a slot in the top, and the lid says this is a piggy bank bottle.
I believe it had syrup in it at one time. I have another piggy bank bottle that is in the shape of a mans face and says Lucky Joe's Mustard.  I don't see these to often and they are kinda pricey ~ If anyone knows anything about these bottles I sure would like to know any info they might have.
Oh I can't wait till the next flea market!

Today I went barn picking, I'll try to show you some pic's tomorrow.
It's getting late and I have to read the paper before I hit the hay, otherwise it will be old news!

Until next time!

Happy Memorial Day!

The Ultimate Sacrifice:
A Memorial Day Poem
We set aside Memorial Day
Each and every year
To honor those who gave their lives
Defending what we hold dear.
In all the dark and deadly wars,
Their graves prove and remind us,
Our brave Americans gave their all
To put danger far behind us.
They made the ultimate sacrifice
Fighting for the American way;
We admire them and respect them
On every Memorial Day.

I hope you all have a happy & safe Memorial Day
with family & friends!

Graduation ~ Test Results ~ PAFA Win ~ Creations

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!
I've been wanting to write a post all week.  Not only does life get in the way, but blogger really screwed it up!  The only thing good about blogger being down is I did get some house work done instead of sitting in front of the computer.  Oh well onto bigger and brighter things!  It's going to be a long one!

As you all know from my last post I spent Mother's Day weekend with my sisters in Sheboygen, my sister Dawn graduated from Lakeland College.  It was a very busy weekend!
On Sat. when we got there we took in the scenery ~ This is the beach area along Lake Michigan ~ Beautiful!

We found an awesome restaurant called Field to Fork ~ it reminded me of an old fashion soda fountain shop ~ with the long counter and the round stools that you can spin on, wide plank pine board floors, brick walls, bakery items, cooks behind the counter cooking your food, coffee bar, and a fresh juice bar!
The name says it all ~ All their food is made with natural, local ingredients.

After lunch Dawn had to go to rehearsal at the college (which is way out in the boonies in the middle of a corn field) then off to find our hotel, change our clothes for the banquet, back to the college for the banquet dinner (way out in the boonies) The dinner was fantastic!
This is our table ~ isn't it pretty!

This was what we had for dinner, chicken stuffed with asparagus, fresh cooked veggies, and red potatoes
Yummy!

Sunday was the ceremony, there were 840 students graduating that day.
My sister Dawn graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business!
Congratulations Dawn! You deserve it!

Wednesday:
I had my check-up and got my test results from having a LEEPS procedure done.
YEAH! NO CANCER.
My doctor was really late for my appointment ~ no complaints here ~ if she wasn't late I probably would have been in the middle of a bad accident.
There was a 12 -vehicle pileup on US 41 ~ No fatalities, but plenty of injuries.
There must of been an angel watching over me. I was like 6 cars behind this accident in bumper to bumper traffic.

Thursday:
I would like to give out a BIG THANK-YOU to all the talented artist over at the PAFA for hosting a fun filled giveaway for the month of May.
You can visit their site here:
I won ~ YIPPEE! A beautiful hand painted sign from Dee over at Ice House Crafts

Thanks Dee your sign is awesome!  I Love it!  You can tell you put a lot of love into it! What a great Mother's Day gift.  You really made my day!
Thanks again to Dee and the members of the PAFA for hosting this wonderful giveaway!

Thursday was also a very hot and humid day ~ in the high 70's.  I was hoping to get some yard work done, but instead they needed some help at the restaurant ~ so in I went.  By the time I got out of work the storms started moving in.

No yard work for me today!
My husband was trying to get our supper cooked on the grill before the rain hit ~ didn't happen!

Such a sport!
The rest of the week has been cold and rainy ~ except for today the sun is shining!
YIPPEE it looks like it is going to be a nice day!

I did manage to get some creations done this past week. Here's a few ~ I don't want to overwhelm everyone with everything I made.

A Primitive Sampler Pinkeep ~ Pattern by: Country Rustic Primitives

The Olde Homestead Pillow   Pattern by: Sami's Stitchery's

I finished up some signs ~ here's a couple of my favorites.

Well there you have it ~ my week in a nut shell!
Thanks for taking the time to visit!
Until we meet again ~ Prim Blessings!
