What a Journey ~ Treasures

I found a red cradle!!!






Does anyone know what the pear shaped piece is?
It's dated  Dec. 27, 1881







My Favorite Find
A Butter Churn!!!
It had the best color and the strapping was leather.

  4. Wow Robin, fabulous finds! Love the tall cabinet and the metal wheel and the old phone and the jar of buttons and .... well all of it! Is the pear shaped item some kind of stretcher? Looks like it opens? Very cool whatever it is ☺ Thanks for sharing all of your treasures!

  9. I just found you and didn't read every word of each comment, but the 'pear-shaped' thing is for rug hooking. There should be a sharp needle looking thing with a hole in it at the narrow end of the pear (couldn't tell for sure in pix.) I had one similar but not quite as large as that one appears. Where the two pieces of wood meet in the middle should slide back and forth which is the depth of the wool (or yarn or rags - whatever they were using.) Hope that helps.
