Spring Plantings Show!

Is Anybody planning on going to this show???

I am seriously thinking about going to this show ~ it all depends if my niece Niki can get off work.
It's going to be difficult for me ~ I have to work on the Friday night before the show and can't get off.
We would have to leave for the show after I'm done with work and then travel 8 hrs to get there ~ by the time we reach our destination it will be 6 a.m. in the morning.

If anyone has any other info about this show  or if you are planning on attending ~ please let me know!!!

If your thinking about going to this show and want to know where I found it you can visit it here ~ http://springplantings.blogspot.com/

It was a beautiful day here in WI on Sat. so I ventured out and went to my favorite quilt shop ~ Primitive Gatherings to get some fabric for some projects I'm working on.

I also found a wonderful punch needle pattern from With thy Needle & Thread called Berries & Cream.

After that I decided to take a road trip out to Chicken Scratch Vintage and see what Jenifer had ~ I hadn't been out there since last summer ~ it's a fun place to stop!!!
You can keep track of what is going on there on her facebook page ~

Here's some of the treasures I picked up!
Found some old small crates (love to use these in my creative space for fat quarters)
This was stamped on the bottom of the crate.
The box on the bottom is the same box in the top picture just showing you what was stamped on the side of the box.  The top box in this picture we think had a railroad lantern in it.

I also found this wonderful woven rug!

and my favorite finds ~
were the stool, jug and table (I found the little table at the Country Rose Shop)

What have you found lately in your travels??? Please do share!!!

Not much else happening around here ~ just waiting for my honey to come home from his scuba diving trip to Palau

Until Next Time

Treat Yourself Today!

I've found a New Love!

Morning Friends!

Yesterday I took a working with wool class over at Primitive Gatherings in Menasha.
Oh I soooo Love that wonderful little quilt shop ~ they have soooo many beautiful bolts of fabric and wools ~ I just drool every time I go in there.

Any Who ~ I took this class and we had a blast ~ Lisa the owner of Primitive Gatherings was our instructor.  It was so nice meeting her in person ~ I follower her blog and I visit her shop often, but have never met her.

This is the project that we learned in class ~
Daisy Table Mat ~ by: Primitive Gatherings
Such a wonderful project for spring!
There was so much to learn to make one of these mats ~ I hope I can remember everything she taught us.  I'm very fortunate that if I have a problem I can take it to the shop to get help.

There was 12 of us girls taking the class and 3 of them came all the way from Iowa ~ how fun is that.
When we were done learning the basics and everything else ~ Lisa took us on a tour through their warehouse to see how they do everything from designing patterns, dyeing the wool and setting up booths for the shows. She also showed us where everything is stored for wholesale orders and retail orders ~ it was huge!  I couldn't believe all the product they had.
Lisa let us browse through the retail section and if there was anything we liked we could purchase it for additional 10 percent off.  Oh heck Yeah ~ I'm going to find something and something I did!!!
This is what I bought.

So yes I found a New Love!!!
I'm so glad I did!!!
And
Thanks so Much Lisa for taking the time out of your busy schedule
to teach us something new!

Today looks like it's going to be a beautiful day ~

The sun is trying to show itself.

The clouds are breaking up to reveal blue skies ~ Yippee!!!
The breezes are warmer today and the temp says it 50 out right now.
Oh it's going to be a Beautiful Day!!!

Not much else going on in this neck of the woods. I have some friendship bread I have to bake and then I want to work on my table mat before I have to go to work.
So ~

Until Next Time
Learn something new ~ It's good for the soul!
Hope your day is Sunny and Bright!

This & That!!!

Yep ~ I'm trying to play catch-up Again!!!
The days of summer are just to darn busy ~ always something to do or that needs to be done.
What happened to the Lazy Days???

So lets catch-up with what has been going on the last couple of weeks.
If things are going to happen they are going to happen to me!
I finally got my husband to cut all my boards for me ~ for making signs.
I was sitting outside going through all my stencils ~ and what in the world is
THIS???
It landed on my arm.  Oh my gosh I went into a fit ~ screaming ~ arms flying ~ jumping around like my pants are on fire.
Seriously ~ wouldn't you???
My neighbors probably get a good laugh out of me
"That's Robin ~ she must of seen a bug or something"
Look at those Antenna's on that thing!

If that's not enough
One weekend I was to meet my sister Sandy at a Flea Market
When this happened ~ Let the 3 fur babies out before I had to leave ~ mind you all Golden Retrievers
I told all 3 ~ I'm running late ~ go do your thing and get back up to the house.
Two of the dogs went to the back yard ~ the youngest of the three went the other way ~ I yelled at him and said Buster get out in the back yard ~ get out of my Hydrangea bushes.  All of sudden he yanked his head out and was shaking it back and forth so fast ~ I thought what in the world is he doing ~ I kinda squinted my eyes and thought to myself ~ That's an awfully fluffy toy ~ Then ~ You don't have a toy that looks like that ~ I walked closer to the railing on our deck and realized it was a raccoon ~ Oh my Lord!!!  I started screaming trying to get him to drop this animal and also trying to keep the other two away ~ when he finally dropped it ~ the darn thing would run towards me hissing and putting his paw up ~ then one of the other dogs would snatch it up.  I kid you not I was screaming "PLEASE ~ Someone help me" for over twenty minutes. ~ Yes some neighbors were outside ~ NO - NOBODY came to help me ~ I was exhausted.  When I finally got all the dogs up on the deck ~ I had to call my neighbor to get rid of the raccoon.  Poor thing was suffering.
To top it off ~ When I was walking one of my dogs on the walking trail behind my house last night there were 3 raccoons down there.  Do you think they were looking for REVENGE??

O.k. on to better and brighter things!
I did make it to the Flea Market and found a few treasures.
Yep ~ Some more bottles ~ the tallest one is an old juice bottle with a child's face imprinted in the glass and the other bottle is an old baby bottle with dogs imprinted in the glass and a cute creamer spoon.

Beautiful pewter creamer and saucer!

and I found these wonderful old books from around 1885 - 1895 1st editions
I just Love old books ~ especially when they were only $1.00 each!

When I was walking back to my car after the Flea Market I saw the new billboard sign for
Primitive Gatherings
I love to go to this shop ~ she has so many wonderful things!

I also went Barn Pickin' and took my friend Vera and her husband Chuck along.
Found a few treasures there too!

A wonderful old scale ~ When I got home I noticed one of the patents was my B-day ~ not the year of course!!!

A vintage seed sack!

A vintage feed sack ~ I believe?  I'm going to use it as a table runner!

Vintage carnival sticks ~ does anybody remember these???

This wonderful old heater ~ I'm going to use it as a plant stand on my porch!

Vera and Chuck got an old ladder and made it into a grape arbor ~ such a wonderful idea!
(Sorry I didn't get a pic)
They also bought a piece of an old grain conveyor belt and made it into a plant hanger!
How cool is that???

Here's my feed sack on my dining room table ~ What do you think???

On June 7th was my son ~ Michael's B-day so we had a picnic lunch in the park!
We had a lot of fun and enjoyed the beautiful day!

My son Michael and my daughter Amanda!

I made up a few ditty bags for the 4th of July
What do you think???

My finger healed up nicely
Still swollen
and still can't bend it very far ~ but I'm working on it ~ no matter how painful it is!

Well I better sign off and catch up with you all later  ~ I've got lots of boards I have to work on!
.
Tomorrow I'm going to Strawberry Fest in Waupaca!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend
Until Next Time

P.S. Sorry that was a long one ~ I'll try not to get so far behind next time!!!

A Little of This & A Little of That!

Good Morn Everyone!
Sorry once again for not blogging as much as I feel I should be.
I really haven't done a whole lot of new lately.  I just been busy making creations and trying to get ahead, except I feel like I'm getting no where fast!
Here's just a few things I've been working on lately!
Jemimah ~ Pattern by: Lucy's Lazy Dayz Primitives

Have a ton of boards I've been working on ~ My sister Sandy came over and helped me paint backgrounds.  Thanks a bunch Sandy!!!

Here's one of my favorites and it already sold!  Yipee!

I like the way this one turned out too!
I've also been working on these:

Pennie ~ Pattern from Primitive Gatherings

Jack ~ A pattern I got out of the Oct. issue of Create & Decorate magazine.

Some pillow tucks I stenciled ~ I love the witch with the crow!

I made a ton of the pumpkins in all different sizes.
The witches shoes ornies are a pattern from Homespun Hugs & Calico Kisses!

I had an order to make all these bracelets (60 to be exact)!
Right now I have soooo many projects started I really don't know which way to turn.
I have more pillow tucks to do, more signs to finish, some orders for some dolls, cross stitches, a swap that Amy from Bumble Bee Lane is hosting, putting a giveaway together, and I have to get out my fall decorations ~ I haven't even started except for a few  little jacks that I picked up at the farmers market and an awesome pumpkin gourd I bought on Etsy.
Isn't he the best? I found him here ~ http://www.etsy.com/shop/pinchmeboutique

I haven't even had time to go treasure hunting.  Bummer :(
I picked up the vintage recipe box a few weeks back and my girlfriend Vera found this awesome piggy bank bear jar for me.  Vera your the best!!! I LOVE IT!!!  THANK-YOU!!!

Other than that, not much else going on EXCEPT ~
I'm going to:

Yep, I'm going!!!
I'm so excited  ~ my niece Niki and my sister in-law Gweyn are going with me!
I can't wait to meet some of the talented artist that I have been following here in blogland!!!
Hey Cranky Crow ~ there's room for one more ~ you still have time to change your mind!
We are leaving at 6:30 a.m. tomorrow  ~ going to be about a 9 hr. drive ~ Well worth it, I'm sure!

Well I better get going, I have lots to get done today before I have to go to work.
I'll see you all on Monday!
Oh and Brenda if I win your giveaway ~ Please hold it for me!!!

Snow Storm Bella!

What a snowy day we had today!  They are calling it Snow Storm Bella.  It started to snow early this morning and quit around supper time.  I hope that is it for a while, my arms are still sore from shoveling last week.  This is what it looked like this morning ~ looking out into our back yard.
In the distance you can see the covered bridge that crosses over the creek. This is a beautiful walking trail that is behind our house.  I can also see this view from my craft room ~ very pretty in any season.

I went to JoAnn fabrics  yesterday and found some good deals and some fabric for spring projects.
I wish they carried more vintage/prim fabrics in their stores.  Guess I have to make a trip to Primitive Gatherings to find what I'm looking for.

I am going to be having a Giveaway soon!  I said when I reached 25 or more followers I would do one.  Looks like I achieved that today.  Thanks to all that Follow Me~it's great to have friends and know that I am not all alone through this learning experience.    Details will be coming soon! Until then~Prim Blessings! Robin
