What have ya been doing over the summer ~~ Part 2

Hello once again Prim Friends!

Today's post is about ~
One of my favorite summer junkin' shops and finding treasures!

I have to go to this shop at least once during the summer.

For some of you that have followed me for awhile ~ you'll recognize this shop ~ I did a post on it when my friend Vera took me there  ~ The post was called whats behind the yellow door!

Well lets see whats in store behind that yellow door shall we?

I collect oil cans ~ but these were a little pricey for my blood!

I love how they put succulents into vintage finds ~ such a cheap and wonderful idea to beautify your garden!

Need some vintage silverware???

I fell in Love with this coffee grinder ~ my niece wanted it too ~ O.K. I'll keep looking!

Another one of my favorites ~ vintage books & glasses

Love this display!

Wonderful collection for the man in your life or decor for your cabin...

Another of my favorites ~ vintage toys

Aren't these the sweetest???  Their yours for $95.00

My daughter would Love everything in this display ~ she collects vintage hand mirrors
(she's a hairdresser of course!)

I just loved these chairs ~ I picture them around a campfire ~ who doesn't sing around a campfire???

What is it about shoe forms???  They always catch my eye ~ I'm more partial to the wooden ones though.

Wasn't that fun???
Nothing like a fun day of treasure hunting!!!

Here's the treasures I just had to buy!!!

I just had to get some of those succulents ~ isn't that little teacup cute???

Did ya see anything ya liked???
I think I did pretty good for a day!

Speaking of treasure hunting ~ I'm so excited ~ and can't wait to go!!!
Tomorrow morning we're heading to ~
Indiana!!!
My niece Niki ~ My daughter Amanda ~ Sister in-law Gwynn and I are going to the Antique Market there on Sat. then on Sunday we're going to St. Joseph in MI to Antiques on the Bluff.
It's going to be a fun filled weekend ~ just us girls!!!
I hope I find some wonderful prim treasures!!!
Don't worry I'll let ya know!!!

Until Next Time

A good life is a
collection of happy moments!

A Storm Isn't Going To Stop A Girl From Going Shopping!

On Friday rain and up to 80 mph winds swept through our neck of the woods.
No the picture isn't blurry ~ that's the rain being blown around!
But that's not going to stop a girl from going shopping!
My niece Niki had seen the pictures on my blog from my visit to the Saving Grace shop (whats behind the yellow door) and wanted to go.
It was a beautiful sunny morning when I woke up ~ who would have thought it would turn evil!
It all happened so fast, it got dark and you could hear the thunder in the distance.  My sister got to my house to pick me up just in time.  She stepped onto my porch and then Mother Nature unleashed her flurry!
We waited on my porch for the rain to subside ~ I of course had my camera in hand and was taking pictures
of the rain pouring and swirling off my neighbors roof.
We really had no idea what was happening around us.
As soon as the rain and the wind calmed down some we jumped into the car to pick my niece up.
We still had no idea what had happened around us.  The wind was whipping us around ~ it was hard to steer straight.
As we continued our journey to Berlin down Hwy 49 we were amazed to see all the debris, fallen trees
and power lines that were laying on the ground.
Some trees simply uprooted and fell over, some trees snapped liked they were twigs, and tops of pine trees looked they got a buzz cut.
But we made it to Saving Grace and Niki was in her glory and found all kinds of goodies!
When we got home that's when we realized the full extent of the storm.
There were so many fallen trees and debris all over our little township and surrounding communities.
All you could hear was the hum of chainsaws buzzing in the air.
A lot of people were without power, schools and businesses closed early, roads were blocked with fallen trees and power lines.
(about an estimated 46,000 people lost their power)  Some still don't have power yet today!

We lost 2 trees in our yard, one of them being our 100+ yr old lilac tree.
My flower beds and garden are all laying flat.
I'm so glad I took pictures of all my beautiful sunflowers before they were all gone.
~ Until next time ~
I hope you all stay safe whether at home or in your travels
and
there's a little sunshine in your neck of the woods!

HAPPY LABOR DAY!!!

Where Have You Been???

I've been here and I've been there!
I've been having so much fun the last couple of weekends finding new places and other fun stuff!
"Caution" This could be a long one!!!
A couple of weekends ago I went to  Shawano to the flea market ~ another hot day!
I didn't find much to really talk about, just some stuff for my creative juices, like baby shoes and bobbins.
I took my Granddaugter (gotta start them out young!)
Remember this pig?  I think it is following me!

After our fun at the flea market we stopped to have one of these.
How refreshing after a long hot day!!!

Last Sunday I went barn pickin'  Yippee!
You have to go down this long winding road.
There it is!
Where to start???
Love this bike!!!

I didn't buy much ~ But I got my eye on some sewing machine tables for next time!
I just got a stool, crock and a milk/creamer bottle.

Yesterday my sister Sandy and I went road tripping.
We went to...
I would have loved to buy one of these beautiful sterling thimbles ~ just a little pricey for me!
After the flea market we went to some of the antique stores in Princeton.
I didn't buy much ~ just a few things!
I found another cool box, some prim towels, red handle whisk, a different kind of bottle for my collection, some spice tins, I was so excited to find some red handled cookie cutters ~ so hard to find.
a cutting board, and some oil cans ~ I've been buying a lot of these lately!

Our journey continues!
Off to Ripon we went and we found this wonderful prim shop!
You will find this wonderful store at 214 Jefferson St. Ripon, WI
Judy Janzen is the owner of this store ~ stop in sometime and say Hi!
This is what I bought at her store!

Then we drove over to Green Lake.
So pretty and peaceful there!

Our last stop for the day was Berlin.
My friend Vera told me about this awesome shop!
I can't wait to see whats behind the yellow door!
Bummer they were closed.
But I just talked to Vera ~ She said " Chuck and I are going this Friday, you wanna go along"
Yippee! You bet I do ~ I want to see whats behind that yellow door ~ I  think I'm going to be in prim heaven!!!

Thanks for taking this little journey with me!
Until next time!
I hope you don't have any grey clouds in your day!
