Happy Memorial Day!

The Ultimate Sacrifice:
A Memorial Day Poem
We set aside Memorial Day
Each and every year
To honor those who gave their lives
Defending what we hold dear.
In all the dark and deadly wars,
Their graves prove and remind us,
Our brave Americans gave their all
To put danger far behind us.
They made the ultimate sacrifice
Fighting for the American way;
We admire them and respect them
On every Memorial Day.

I hope you all have a happy & safe Memorial Day
with family & friends!

Look what I got in the mail today!

Boy aren't all of you lucky ~ two posts in one day!
I was so excited when I got the mail today and there was a yellow slip in my box.
I went to the counter and waited anxiously to see if the package was for me.
(my husband gets a lot of packages from Cabela's)
Yippee!  It's for ME!  The post mark on the box was from Australia!
I couldn't wait to open it ~ I knew it was going to be a doll I won in a giveaway
but didn't know for sure what she was going to look like.

Isn't she precious!
She is more beautiful than I could ever imagine!
Thanks so much Lisa, I LOVE HER! I will cherish her for many years to come!
I won this beauty over at Olive Grove Primitives.
Lisa is a very talented artist.  She has so many beautiful creations on her blog and website.
Please go give her a visit and say Hi.
Thanks again Lisa!
Until we meet again

Graduation ~ Test Results ~ PAFA Win ~ Creations

Good Sunday Morning Everyone!
I've been wanting to write a post all week.  Not only does life get in the way, but blogger really screwed it up!  The only thing good about blogger being down is I did get some house work done instead of sitting in front of the computer.  Oh well onto bigger and brighter things!  It's going to be a long one!

As you all know from my last post I spent Mother's Day weekend with my sisters in Sheboygen, my sister Dawn graduated from Lakeland College.  It was a very busy weekend!
On Sat. when we got there we took in the scenery ~ This is the beach area along Lake Michigan ~ Beautiful!

We found an awesome restaurant called Field to Fork ~ it reminded me of an old fashion soda fountain shop ~ with the long counter and the round stools that you can spin on, wide plank pine board floors, brick walls, bakery items, cooks behind the counter cooking your food, coffee bar, and a fresh juice bar!
The name says it all ~ All their food is made with natural, local ingredients.

After lunch Dawn had to go to rehearsal at the college (which is way out in the boonies in the middle of a corn field) then off to find our hotel, change our clothes for the banquet, back to the college for the banquet dinner (way out in the boonies) The dinner was fantastic!
This is our table ~ isn't it pretty!

This was what we had for dinner, chicken stuffed with asparagus, fresh cooked veggies, and red potatoes
Yummy!

Sunday was the ceremony, there were 840 students graduating that day.
My sister Dawn graduated with a Bachelor Degree in Business!
Congratulations Dawn! You deserve it!

Wednesday:
I had my check-up and got my test results from having a LEEPS procedure done.
YEAH! NO CANCER.
My doctor was really late for my appointment ~ no complaints here ~ if she wasn't late I probably would have been in the middle of a bad accident.
There was a 12 -vehicle pileup on US 41 ~ No fatalities, but plenty of injuries.
There must of been an angel watching over me. I was like 6 cars behind this accident in bumper to bumper traffic.

Thursday:
I would like to give out a BIG THANK-YOU to all the talented artist over at the PAFA for hosting a fun filled giveaway for the month of May.
You can visit their site here:
I won ~ YIPPEE! A beautiful hand painted sign from Dee over at Ice House Crafts

Thanks Dee your sign is awesome!  I Love it!  You can tell you put a lot of love into it! What a great Mother's Day gift.  You really made my day!
Thanks again to Dee and the members of the PAFA for hosting this wonderful giveaway!

Thursday was also a very hot and humid day ~ in the high 70's.  I was hoping to get some yard work done, but instead they needed some help at the restaurant ~ so in I went.  By the time I got out of work the storms started moving in.

No yard work for me today!
My husband was trying to get our supper cooked on the grill before the rain hit ~ didn't happen!

Such a sport!
The rest of the week has been cold and rainy ~ except for today the sun is shining!
YIPPEE it looks like it is going to be a nice day!

I did manage to get some creations done this past week. Here's a few ~ I don't want to overwhelm everyone with everything I made.

A Primitive Sampler Pinkeep ~ Pattern by: Country Rustic Primitives

The Olde Homestead Pillow   Pattern by: Sami's Stitchery's

I finished up some signs ~ here's a couple of my favorites.

Well there you have it ~ my week in a nut shell!
Thanks for taking the time to visit!
Until we meet again ~ Prim Blessings!

Happy Mother's Day!

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mothers out there in blogland!

A Mother's Love
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can understand our tears,
Can soothe our disappoints
And calm all of our fears.
There are times when only a Mother's love
Can share the joy we feel
When something we've dreamed about
Quite suddenly is real.
There are times when only a Mother's faith
Can help us on life's way
And inspire in us the confidence
We need from day to day.
For a Mother's heart and a Mother's faith
And a Mother's steadfast love
Were fashioned by the Angels
And sent from God above.

I hope you All had a Wonderful Day!
Whether you are a Mother yourself, spent time with your Mother/Mother inlaw
or you were with someone that is a Mother.

Where does the time go???

Good Evening Everyone!
I'm telling you I just don't understand where the time goes these days.  Why was it when we were younger we had all the time in the world ~ carefree days!  Now as I'm getting older the time just seems to fly by.  There is so much to do and I just can't seem to catch up.  I'm so far behind in blog land, but I am trying to read and catch up with everyone (that is why I have been commenting on older posts, sorry)

Yesterday (Wed) was such a great day ~ it was beautiful outside the sun was shining and the air was warm.
I've been waiting for this day to arrive, so I can do my finishing work on my signs.  I've been painting on my signs during the rainy days (remember the pile of wood I had my husband cut in an earlier post)
This is some of the signs I've been working on, there are more stacked on my kitchen counter and out in the garage.
I've also been working on other things for the booth I have and for my website but I can't show you because some of the items are for the Farmhouse Summer Swap that I signed up to do.  Renee from Recollecting the Past is my partner and I hope she will like the items I put together for her.  I'll have to show you  the items on a future post.

My friend Vera from Kauffv Designs came over (o.k. she walked through the back yard) and brought over some items for me to sell on the website or take them to the booth.  The paintings she did are so beautiful!

She painted this on an antique childs ironing board.
I can't believe all the detail ~ look at the nail on the birdhouse it's bent!

I fell in Love with this as soon as I saw it ~ I think I'm going to buy this one!

She also brought over this beautiful painting of hydrangea's done up on a screen.

This weekend I'm going to be spending with my sisters Sandy and Dawn.  We will be going to Sheboygan to do some shopping, sight seeing and what ever else we find to do on Sat. and then on Sun  we will be at Lakeland College to watch Dawn graduate.
Yeah I know I'll be behind again in blogland.  I will catch up sooner or later.
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend.
Until next time
Prim Blessings
