My Creations!

I haven't been in blog land very much ~ Sorry!
I have been trying to catch up with everyone ~ soon I hope!
Summer is just so darn busy, so much to do.
I've been trying to get my booth filled up at Cedar Ridge ~ this is what I have accomplished and  took to the store this past week.  Lots of pictures!

Some of my signs!

I made a bunch of the garden dolls ~ pattern by Blue Moon Beginnings
Raggedies ~ pattern by Prim Raggs

Old Glory bags ~ pattern by Olde Homestead Barn

Rooster Pillows ~ pattern by Samanthas Accessories
Here's what  my booth looks like at Cedar Ridge.

I also made a sign for a friend of mine for their cottage

I've been busy and I still have a lot more sign to do ~ one day I will get this table cleared!
If you look real hard you can see stacks of boards on the floor waiting for their base coats.
I'm also hoping to start making fall items.  I better get busy ~ time is passing me by!

Have a Great Day!

Barn Pickin'

Hello Everyone out there in Blog Land!
I know I promised to post yesterday, but time once again got away from me.
Sunday I got to go barn pickin', one of my favorite things to do!
Boy do I feel like one of the guys/gals from American Pickers!
Shoot ~ I forgot my flashlight!
A couple times throughout the year we get to go to this guys house and pick through his barn, this is through invitation only.  I feel so honored to join in the fun.  The man that owns this barn goes to flea markets, garage sales, auctions, estate sales and travels the country to find old homes and such that are being torn down.  Sometimes he comes across the most amazing things.  His barn and property are full of wonderful finds.

This is the barn that we go pickin' through ~ even the lofts are packed to the brim.
I don't always like going up there, (kind of scary coming down, you have to hang onto a rope when your going down the steep ramps) but if you don't you'll surely miss something! Last year I found the most beautiful old strawberry basket with a birds nest in it, it was tucked way in the corner under a bunch of stuff. That's why you need a flashlight not much light up there either.
In the main level there is room after room filled with great finds.  Sorry I didn't take any pictures in the inside.
I'll try to next time ~ he said we might be able to come back at the end of July. YIPPEE!!!

Everything is for sale! except the buildings themselves.  Anything on the buildings is for sale though.
Some things have prices, some do not ~ it's like going to your own personal flea market.  He even had a table set up with beverages and bars!

Even if you need/looking for an old outhouse he has some of those too!
I don't know how many he has, I'm going to guess around 30 or so.

Some of the items I purchased ~ a couple old boxes, window screen, an old drawer from an old work bench, grain pull, old whisk broom, an old clipboard for invoices.
 and

I love this!  It goes perfect in my flower garden. It even spins!
He told me it used to be a seed marker for planting.
Hope you all enjoyed my little adventure in barn pickin'!

I'm going to be posting a giveaway at the end of the week ~ so stay tuned!!!

Flea Market Finds!

I've been meaning to post this for awhile ~ just haven't  had the time.
Last Sat. I went to my first flea market for the season.  I've been itching to go after seeing every one's wonderful finds here in blogland.
I always seem to get scheduled  to work on Sat. nights, so I have to stick close to home ~ and believe me there are not many flea markets close to home.
The flea market I went to only has them the first Sat. of every month.  I jumped into the car as soon as I got up ~ and believe me that wasn't fast enough.
I wanted to enjoy it for as long as I could.
This is where the flea market was held ~ M. Schettl
This truly is an out of mall experience!
They have statue's and displays all through the grounds and their buildings are packed with unusual finds.

I thought these were cool ~ the bottle trees ~ even the gazebo had colorful bottles all over it.

This gazebo was filled with old wine barrels ~ can you see the pink flamingo in the background?

Some of the vendors had their wares displayed on old wagons that are around the property.

I was so excited to get this old wash tub for $5.00.  I'm going to put potted geraniums in it, and when we have cookouts I can remove the plants and fill it with ice and beverages.

I got an old sewing rocker ~ I love the dark aged wood!

Just some small finds ~ the mirror is for my daughter she is a beautician and she loves old hand mirrors.
I love old tins and bottles!

This is a close-up of the pig jar I got, there is a slot in the top, and the lid says this is a piggy bank bottle.
I believe it had syrup in it at one time. I have another piggy bank bottle that is in the shape of a mans face and says Lucky Joe's Mustard.  I don't see these to often and they are kinda pricey ~ If anyone knows anything about these bottles I sure would like to know any info they might have.
Oh I can't wait till the next flea market!

Today I went barn picking, I'll try to show you some pic's tomorrow.
It's getting late and I have to read the paper before I hit the hay, otherwise it will be old news!

Until next time!
