I Was A "Blanketeer For A Day"

Today the Dale Area Leaders & Entrepreneurs were sponsoring a
"Blanket Day to Benefit Project Linus"

So I packed up my sewing scissors and headed down to the town hall to help make blankets.

Project Linus is a non-profit organization that provides new, handmade washable blankets, quilts, and afghans to children ages 0 - 18 who are seriously ill traumatized, or otherwise in need.

Volunteers known as "blanketeers" hand-make the blankets during organized community events.

Yes even men were there helping cut fabric, tying  and doing whatever needed to be done.

It was a very fun filled and rewarding day!!!

When I left the group had made over 125 blankets!!!

Thanks to D.A.L.E.
(Dale Area Leaders & Entrepreneurs)
for sponsoring this wonderful event!!!

Until Next Time
Happiness is a healthy
mental attitude, a grateful spirit,
and a clear heart full of love.

Holy blankets!! Wow! I can't imagine that much fabric in one room! What a sweetie you are to give of yourself in that way. When I worked at social services, I used to see several of those blankets come through - and it always touched my heart - and I wondered about the people who gave of themselves to do it. Now I can say I know one....and it doesn't surprise me one bit it's you... ;o) Smiles & Blankets of Hugs ~ Robin

Robin,

I'm sure the kids that receive the blankets can feel all the love that goes into making them. What a wonderful community project to participate in.

Have a wonderful Sunday.

How awesome! I would love to do something like this, I wish our community offered something similar. It does look like fun and yes, I can see where it would be very rewarding... especially at the end of the day when you see the stack of 125 blankets! I wanna be a blanketeer!!! Lol
