The Weather ~

has been something else lately.

You just don't know how to dress.

Yep we had those frigid cold temps ~ -50 with the wind chill ~ brrr....

Then we had those awful rain storms ~

and everything turned into a sheet of ice ~ which I think is the worst!

Yesterday was like a spring day ~ the ice was slowly melting and the roads were clear.

So I went out to find me some treasures.

Look at these beauties I found ~

I've been looking for a pair of vintage shoes~ and they were a good price!!!

I also found these treasures ~

a pair of vintage gloves

and

I love the vintage glass that has my name on it.

My newest item I'm on the hunt for ~ vintage iron sprinklers ~ I found one ~ let the hunt begin!!!

Today when I woke up it was snowing ~

Yep it's still snowing as I'm writing this 

I'm so glad we don't have to use one of these ~

Not much has been happening around here.

We got a new refrigerator ~

I Love it!!!

and I took my Christmas creations down in my booth and added some Valentine goodies

Still Snowing in WI

Oh my gosh it started snowing lightly yesterday morning and as the day progressed the bigger and harder it started to snow. 

Like being in a snow globe!

 

When I awoke this morning it was still snowing ~ WHAT????

We were only suppose to get 1 - 2 inches of snow!

I just love it when the snow sits on the pine boughs ~ like a Christmas card!

I'm going to stay inside today and work on spring projects until I have to go to work.

Snowing in Wisconsin!

Yep ~ It's snowing here in Wisconsin!

I think Granny Trace felt sorry for us and sent the snow our way!!!

But why today????   Don't get me wrong I love it when it's snowing but not today.

Today I was going to meet up with a fellow blogger Katie ~ aka ~ All The Boys

and do a little prim shopping ~ oh I was so looking forward to this.

But the roads are just not good to travel on today.

not to mention the winds and the temperature is dropping rapidly ~ 17 degrees.

So I guess today would be a good day to make some of these!

So today will be a day just to stay inside where it is warm and create!

I  have to do some finishes to some of these stitcheries I did.

 I also have some dolls to finish and work on some swap goodies.

Sandblasted Rocks

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are enjoying your morning!

Well what once was starting to turn green is now all white!

We are having one nasty storm here ~ it has been raining and sleeting here since yesterday.  Last night it was lightning and thundering, I guess they call it thunder snow.  Now it is snowing to beat the band.  They say by the time it is all done we might have 9" of that pretty white stuff. Yuk!

Oh well on to brighter things!

Yesterday I went to Fox Valley Monument, and as you know in an earlier post my nephew Brian owns this company and is going to make me some sandblasted stones to list on my website.  Brian took me through the process of making a stone.  It was fun and interesting to watch this process.  I thought I would share some of the pictures with you.

First you pick out what stone you want to sandblast.

Then you decide what you want to put on the stone ~ and you pick your font and the size you need on the computer to make a stencil. We decided on the word love.

Then you put a special glue on the stone

While the glue is drying you transfer your word you printed from the computer onto this sticky sheet.

 You take this sticky sheet and wrap it around the rock and cut out the letters.

 Now you can see what it will say.

Now the stone will get sandblasted~I liked what it said on the door of the sandblasting booth.

Can you see it in there ~ it is getting sandblasted.

It's all done getting sandblasted!

 After it gets sandblasted you have to spray it with a black epoxy.

When your all done with all the steps you have to clean all the residue off.

Here's your finished creation!

Blizzard Adin

Well we had a blizzard alright!  It started early Sat. morning  then it quit for awhile and started snowing again around 5:00 pm.  Our grand daughter Keyarra was over to spend the night.  At 8:00 p.m. is when it really started, my husband and Keyarra went to go brush their teeth for bed and my husband told her to turn the light back on that she just turned off.(he didn't realize mother nature was in control) the lights flickered for a while and then poof out went the lights again. The wind was blowing and howling releasing its flurry.  I lit some candles and continued cross stitching by candle light (I felt like a pioneer woman of days gone by) The lights would come back on and go off for the next couple of hours.  I had enough, time to turn in.  We woke the next morning to 11 inches of snow and the wind was still blowing, and the lights still flickered.  Keyarra was so excited to see all the snow she had to go outside with the dogs and make snow angels they had a blast, I looked at it as a back ache.  After breakfast it was time for Keyarra to go  home.  I crossed her across the street to watch her walk home(she just lives down the street from our house), I had to laugh, she would be walking across the drifts of snow on the side walks and then all of a sudden all you would see was the top of her pink hat.  Then she would reappear, I could see she was getting tired,so she then decided it was easier to crawl across the snow drifts the rest of the way home.

When I went out to shovel I looked around and a lot of the neighbor men were out snow blowing their driveways. They all looked like snowmen all covered in snow. I'm glad I don't know how to work the snow blower, I would rather shovel then to have all that snow blow in my face.  Then some nice man in a red pickup truck  plowed out our driveway, after he was done I saw he went down the street and anybody that didn't have their driveways cleared he plowed it out for them.  (Thank-You nice man in the red pickup truck) That is why I like to live in a small town everyone seems to look out for each other.

The storm has tamed down now, Hopefully!  I would have posted earlier but I couldn't connect to the internet  until now and I had to read two days worth of posts.
